The Sherry-Netherland Lobby |

The
Sherry-Netherland was designed as
an alter ego to the sumptuous Plaza Hotel
across Fifth
Avenue. At the Plaza, all was showy magnificence:
huge halls, lofty ceilings, acres of marble
and gilt. At The Sherry, the lobby was
inspired
by parts of the Vatican Library, but in
miniature, elegant but restrained.
