I must admit that when I first heard of The Gates, I thought it was a silly idea. But now I'm a convert. The Gates cost the city of New York and its citizens nothing. Christo and Jeanne-Claude paid for the whole event themselves, and even donated several million dollars to Central Park causes. The Gates was fun! Just look!
