Champion Paper Mill |

Just
north of Bucksport and the Penboscot River
Bridge is the Champion Paper Mill. From its
earliest colonial days, Maine was valued for
its forest wealth: tall, straight masts for
the royal navy, timber for firewood, lumber
for making furniture and buildings, and for
making paper. In the fading light of dusk,
the paper plant is a Maine industrial monument.
