The
Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound,
on ME Route 3 just north of the bridge to Mount
Desert Island,
is famous for doing things the old-fashioned
way:
here,
live Maine
lobsters are
kept in a dry refrigerator until sold, then
put in fishing-net bags and boiled
in seawater
in outdoor wood-fired tubs. The seawater
imparts the salty flavor of the Atlantic.
Eat
your lobster with corn-on-the-cob or coleslaw
and a slice of
Maine blueberry
pie for the perfect Bar
Harbor picnic lunch
or dinner.
