Pretty old houses and grand old trees line this main street in Concord MA that goes from Concord's Monument Square to the neighboring town of Lexington. British redcoats marched along Lexington Road on April 19, 1775, as they came from the battle with the Minutemen in Lexington to the battle with the Minutemen in Concord. Today Lexington Road is full of history, passing the houses of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Louisa May Alcott and her family, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Ephraim Bull (creator of the Concord Grape). |
