John F Kennedy (1917-1963)
Born in Brookline to a prosperous
and politically savvy family, John
Fitzgerald Kennedy was educated
at Harvard
College before serving as
a PT-boat captain in World War II.
After serving
as a US congressman and senator, he
was elected 35th President of the
United States in
1960, the youngest ever, and the first
Roman Catholic.
The Kennedy family compound
in Hyannisport MA became nationally famous
as a "summer White House," and visitors
to Hyannis still enjoy harbor
cruises that
include a view of the Kennedy property
from the sea.
In the center of Hyannis
is a small museum dedicated
to John F Kennedy, his history, accomplishments
and memory.
