Bear Creek Mountain Ski Club is a ski resort with a difference: it's a private club. You pay a fee to become a lifetime member, then an annual membership fee, and you enjoy private skiing at your own club. The level of personal service is high, as you'd expect in a private club: no waiting at the lifts, ski attendants to care for your equipment. Two lifts serve the club's 16 trails on the 1300-foot (396-meter) vertical drop, about half of which are for novices, and half intermediate. The club is off of VT Route 100 on Rome Top Road (map). It's only a short ride from Bear Creek to the village of Plymouth VT, birthplace of Calvin Coolidge, 30th president of the United States. Bear
