Pico Mountain Ski Resort |

One of the oldest ski resorts in the USA, Pico Mountain is still popular as a contrast to nearby Killington, its gigantic sibling. |

Pico Peak (3967 feet, 1209 meters), nine miles east of Rutland VT on US 4, was opened to skiing in 1937. Over the years it developed a reputation for family spirit and close camaraderie. In 1996 the economics of skiing forced consolidation with neighboring Killington as a property of American Skiing Company, which benefitted skiers as ski passes for Killington (and certain other ASC passes) were also honored at Pico. Both Killington and Pico are currently in the process of being sold to new owners, but ski operations should not be affected. Pico Mountain has a 1967-foot vertical drop, 50 ski trails, and six lifts (including two fast quads). All trails end at the single large base lodge, making it an easy mountain to find your way around. Pico MountainSki Resort
