Mount Sunapee Ski Resort in Newbury NH is accessible, being just about the closest ski area of its size and scope to Boston MA and Hartford CT. It's of moderate size, with 65 trails (17 novice, 32 intermediate, 16 expert) down a vertical drop of 1510 feet (460 meters), served by 10 lifts including three quads (one high-speed). The South Peak learners area is separate from the main slope, which saves beginners from people racing by them. Snowboarders get a freeride zone, half-pipe and race arena. Plenty of ski lessons and classes, kids' programs and child care (1 to 5 years), and equipment rentals. Lodgings are in nearby towns. Mount Sunapee
