East of Skowhegan less than six miles (10 km; map), Eaton Mountain is a small local ski area with a vertical drop of 622 feet, 18 ski trails (5 Beginner, 7 Intermediate, 6 Expert), including some gladed trails, one double chair lift, one T-bar, and 100% snowmaking. The entire area is lit at night for night skiing. The ski school is good for beginners and intermediates. There's a terrain park for snowboarders and snow tubing runs for everyone. Eaton Mountain
