Bicycling in New England is a popular sport, whether you're renting a bike for the day to tour Cape Cod National Seashore, or are determined to travel the entire length of Vermont's Route 100. Bike shops for renting or repairing bikes are readily found. In many places old railroad right-of-ways have been turned into perfect bike paths: level surfaces with easy curves and grades. Among the most prominent bike trails are the ones in Cape Cod National Seashore, as well as the Shining Sea Bike Path between Falmouth and Woods Hole MA, and the Minuteman Bikeway from Boston to near Concord MA. The islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket MA, and Block Island RI, are perfect for bikes, and even Boston has bike paths along both banks of the Charles River. There's lots more info about bicycling in the USA available from the Adventure Cycling Association.
