complex that includes the Rhode Island
Convention Center and Providence

Providence Marriott Downtown
The 346-room, five-storey Marriott is just off I-95
and convenient to the city center. Advantages here
include the city's only indoor-outdoor swimming
pool, an airport shuttle, and free overnight parking.

Holiday Inn Providence-Downtown
Right next to the Dunkin Donuts (Civic) Center,
the 14-story, 274-room hotel has a
good
restaurant
called the Black Swan,
a lounge with live entertainment, and an indoor pool.
The bus and train stations are less than half a mile
away. It's a good value for quality, price, location,

The Old Court Bed & Breakfast Inn
On College Hill at the corner of North St, this handsome
old three-story brick mansion is only a
short walk from downtown The house was built in 1863
as a rectory, but takes its name from the old Rhode
Island Courthouse

11-room inn itself is a fine example of historic
preservation: all of its Italianate
features—12-foot
ceilings, plaster moldings, crystal chandeliers,
brass sconces, and ornately carved marble mantelpieces—are

Motels on the Outskirts
Most of Providence's hotel capacity is in the neighboring
cities
of Warwick near the airport to the south, Pawtucket to
the north toward Boston on I-95, and Seekonk MA on I-195, the road to Cape
Cod.
As most of these
hotels and motels are right off the highway,
it's a good idea
to pick them according to your plans for
tomorrow: if it's evening as you approach Providence,
stay in Warwick and then see Providence the next
day;
if it's
early in the day, tour through Providence
and
then head out I-95 to Pawtucket if your next
stop is
Boston, or I-195 to Seekonk if you're headed
for Cape
Cod.
