The area along NH Route 16 between North Conway and Gorham, including the town of Bartlett on US Route 302, is organized for tourist reasons as the Mount Washington Valley. The towns of North Conway and Jackson are centers for summer hiking, camping, and biking trips, and for winter skiing at the ski areas of Attitash, Mount Cranmore, Black Mountain, and Wildcat Mountain. The Mount Washington Valley Visitors Center (tel 603-356-3171) has its main information office on Main Street in the center of North Conway, open during business hours and on weekends.
