Ogunquit has been a summer resort for over a century, and it's no wonder that people come back year after year. Ogunquit's town government has ensured that the town remains tidy and picturesque despite its tourism development. Visitors feel welcome in the town, whether they're strolling along Ogunquit's picturesque "Marginal Way," a path along the rocky coast; relaxing at Ogunquit Beach; or dining in one of the many excellent restaurants. At Perkins Cove, a tiny peninsula is festooned with the quaint low waterfront shops and shacks from Ogunquit's fishing-village heyday. Right along US 1 is the Ogunquit Playhouse (tel 207-646-5511), which presents Broadway plays and musicals from late June through early September (Labor Day). More...
