Guided Tours of Nantucket, Mass.

There's no better way to get your bearings than by taking a tour of Nantucket, and the short time spent (1.5 hours) will help you better organize the precious time you'll have on the island.

 

 

Bus Tours
Tour buses meet most ferryboats at Steamboat Wharf and Straight Wharf, ready to take you on a 1.5-hour tour of the island.

Nantucket Island Tours (tel 508-228-0334), with offices at 33 Straight Wharf, offers seven island tours daily in summer.

Around Nantucket Tours (tel 508-221-7900), at the foot of Main Street just off Straight Wharf, operates 1.5-hour tours daily running on several different routes between Nantucket Town and 'Sconset.

Adventure Tours (tel 508-228-1686), at Lower Main and Easy Streets, uses center-aisle vans for comfort.

Gail's Tours (tel 508-257-6557), is run by Nantucket native Gail Nickerson Johnson, who prides herself on her deep knowledge of Nantucket and its people.

Walking Tours
The Nantucket Historical Association organizes walking tours of Nantucket Town, including a historical-architectural tour, and a family tour with special features for young children. Contact the Association at the Whaling Museum.
