(There are no ferries at all to Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard.) The car ferries also carry passengers without cars, and passengers with bicycles. You should have a reservation to ship your car off-season (November through May), and you must have a car reservation in the high-summer months from mid-June through early September. The Steamship Authority operates large and numerous parking lots with shuttle buses to take passengers to the docks. Low-power AM radio stations near the docks communicate current details on ferry departures, arrivals and parking availability to passengers driving to Woods Hole and Hyannis, directing traffic to appropriate lots.
