Boston's West End, north of Boston Common, is full of hospitals, most renowned of which is the Massachusetts General Hospital ("Mass General," or simply "MGH"), but other worthy medical meccas are the Shriners' Children's Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital, and the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

The MBTA subway's Red Line stops at MGH, and can also take you straight to Park Street Station or Harvard Square.
