The Cambridge Office for Tourism publishes a good self-guided historical walking tour pamphlet entitled Walking Tour: Cambridge, a self-guided tour of the original village of Newtowne—established by founders of the Massachusetts bay colony in 1630. The pamphlet, which includes a map of the Harvard Square area, Harvard University and Brattle Street, is available for purchase ($2.50) at the Jules G Chisholm Information Booth in Harvard Square. (The booth is marked "Cambridge Visitor's Information Center.") Several organizations conduct guided walking tours of Harvard University and/or the Harvard Square area. Ask at the informaton booth for the latest information.
