The visitors' information desk is in the Old State House, 800 Main Street, Hartford, CT 06103 (tel. 203/522-6766), in Old State House Square, right in the center of town. The desk is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm, on Sunday from noon to 5pm. There is no short-term parking convenient to the Old State House, so plan to park for the length of your visit in a downtown lot, and then walk to the Old State House to ask questions and pick up maps and brochures. The Greater Hartford Convention and Visitors Bureau has organized all the sights in Hartford's downtown into what is called The Walk, and a free folder guiding you from point to point along the scenic stroll is available from the office at 1 Civic Center Plaza, or from the visitors information desk in the Old State House. |
